Fate of The Arts Teacher | Masela Samuel | 2022-12-13 11:36:25
What happened, papa?
Didn't you take my brother and I Through the same training?
Paying the same tuition?
Taking the same duration?
Now l survive on crumbs; he on bread
You do not matter, child
You cannot cause development in society
You tell stories so you're not a priority
Can your stories make even a safety pin?
Eh, papa
I feel segregated against; embarrassed
We do the same work; my load weighs more
Why should my brother's reward weigh more then?
Will I afford life, fitting education for my children, ....?
These charge me according to my brother's reward
I know what I'm saying, child
Refrain from putting me on unnecessary pressure
Lecturing me about how and when to match your rewards
Eat crumbs as your brother eats bread
He will develop first and after that
He will reward you as well
Okay papa, great thanks
The segregation and embarrassment
So motivating; encouraging
I will work with all my effort
In silence than ever before
I wish there were markets for the unfortunate
Schools for children of the disadvantaged
.............
Oh God, come to my rescue
Comment about "Fate of The Arts Teacher " by Masela Samuel
A great revelation yet none attacking
Indeed if arts and science teachers were were from the same womb then you spoke right
Good piece to our government officials/MEOS.

Yes, It serves a very cardinal role of poetry; to express our emotion very effectively. Thanks for doing it for us all the segregated children and "bazukulu" of Mzee Papa.
Oh, you are welcome, brother Kiiza Gelase.
