In conspiracy with rather tired earth
Eagerly waiting for its share
Like a promised bachelor
A corpse lies in wait beside
The preacher consolingly leads service
As grieved mournrs sob sorrowfully
The disgusted corpse is lowered in disharmony
Amidst wails of forced farewel
Marking a journey with no return ticket
Breeding thoughts of desperation
As earth cements the wall of disconnected relationship
In a jokingly serious way
Oh the dear one is gone
The non selective reaper has pleased himself
And parted company with that one
But already as hungry as ever for more
